After OU’s drumming at the hands of Texas A&M final weekend, the Sooners are coming back residence with their sights set on victory. Texas Tech is coming into Gaylord Family Memorial Stadium with an enormous upset over the then #12 ranked Mizzou Tigers. However, to boil down the University of Oklahoma football program to at least one overarching generalization, there is one factor they’re good, outstanding at winning on Owen Field. The Sooners have gained all of their house games this season by an average of 25 factors. Senior RB Demarco Murray is just 139 yards in need of his second 1,000 yard season in as a few years. Tied for third within the Big XII the Sooners need a win here to keep their Big XII south hopes alive, particularly with highway tests againt Baylor and the #10 Oklahoma State Cowboys to shut out their season.

In July 2009, Sporting News Magazine took a daring step to name former UCLA Basketball Coach John Wooden as the greatest American athletics coach of all time. To these of us who grew up listening to Dick Enberg call the play-by-play of UCLA’s games through the Wooden period, this was no surprise and in reality long over due. While this title spawns a have to do a feature on Wooden alone, his naming brought about me to think of all the dominant sports programs that come to thoughts together with such great teams as the New York Yankees, Boston Celtics, Soviet Union Hockey Team and others.
